Robert Half and Protiviti strive to incorporate diversity into our supply chain. As sponsors of the Veterans in Business (VIB) Network’s 7th annual conference in San Diego, Calif., our team shared educational resources to help veteran-owned businesses thrive.“Our Supplier Inclusion program prides itself on supporting diverse business organizations that provide critical development opportunities to its members,” said Lou Rosas, Director, Supplier Inclusion. “This is especially rewarding when that support positively impacts veteran-owned businesses. We recognize their bravery and dedication and thank them for their service.” Visit the Robert Half Supplier Inclusion program page to learn more!

This part…While DEI practitioners are trained to understand pertinent issues across the spectrum of diversity, more is needed. It is critical to have a representative of the dimension of diversity you want to understand, delivering the message to employees, shareholders, communities and the public. While that may sound over the top, it is how you deliver authentically.

Clearly documenting and repeatedly discussing your company's Core Values makes hiring, onboarding, feedback, and firing easier than you thought possible. They lay out the ground rules for how to be a successful team member and create clear vocabulary for what type of behaviors (and attitudes) are required to thrive in your team's culture. We often start this formulation process by simply describing the team members who embody our company. Then we can focus those to Core Values that are representative, not just aspirational. And then you have to actually use them! Talk about them until everyone on your team can talk about them to a stranger. Failing to establish Core Values is seeting your team up for miscommunications and frustrations.Anyone have great team values they'll share with us?#smallbusinessowner #smallbusiness #corevalues

At CCRM, our values are a reflection of what we care about as an organization. They are very important to our culture and how we operate as a team. Hear from Michael May on which value resonates the most with him and why."If I had to choose only one of CCRM’s values to identify with, I suppose I would select purpose as it is foundational. Our mission is to transform medicine with 'living therapies' by tackling the major challenges in the industry - like access to capital, biomanufacturing and talent development. Purpose drives the energy, commitment and persistence the team needs to stay on course. Purpose sustains the network through which we live our other core values of collaboration, excellence, accountability and integrity."Watch this video as Michael May discusses the importance of values and diversity to our organization https://lnkd.in/ddDjmaC3

Organizations with more culturally and ethnically diverse executive teams were 33% more likely to see above-average-profits and when CORPORATE BOARDS are diverse, companies are 43% more likely to see greater-than-average profits. (McKinsey’s annual “Delivering Through Diversity Report”).A couple of suggestions to note for companies that recognize the call for greater board diversity, per Crains Chicago cover story:✅ Provide greater DEI disclosures including the broader use of data to create accountability and transparency about efforts to consider diverse talent.✅ Leverage external advisers to expand the talent pool and increase exposure to diverse talent.✅ Look beyond the typical C-suite resume. Companies must examine the skill gaps that exist on board and weigh the full scope of the candidate’s background, experiences and expertise.✅ Adding diversity to a board room is not enough. Board members must create a culture where the diverse voices are heard, valued and additive.🏁 🏁 🏁 #talent #diversity #equity #inclusion #boardroom #boardofdirectors #corporateboards #executive https://lnkd.in/gkYhyp3y

Just finished "The Value of Employee Resource Groups" by Living Corporate! Check it out: https://lnkd.in/er7BS38N #affinitygroups, #employeeresourcegroups, #employeerelations. This course was in interview form vs. lecture-style, but I felt the narrative and industry-specific anecdotes really drove the message. One of the interesting concepts discussed was Yum Brands offering “reverse mentoring” in an effort to have senior executives learn about what drives the business from more junior employees. In the DEI space, reading about statistics and impact in a deck is helpful, but HEARING about the opportunities and challenges from diverse voices representing the workforce and the customer base makes the difference. Why? Because the information is no longer just a graph or a bullet point; it’s a living, breathing person who is speaking to their personal experiences and humanizing the data. And that’s what is at the core of DEI: the collective human experience where all voices are represented, heard, valued and respected.#dei #ergs #brgs #dib
