i had agreat experience purchasing aused fender stratocaster from these guys. isaw the model Iwas looking for onthe 'net and glen, the sales person Ispoke towas nice enough tomake ashort video for meshowing indetail what great condition the guitar wasin. hepacked itextremely well, got itout that day and Ihad ita couple ofdays later. the guitar isin even better condition than Ithought and looked practically new which ispretty incredible for a14y/o guitar. i've been playingand tweaking itsince but can easily say i'm happy with mypurchase and would definitely recommend these guys for being honest, fair and giving great customer service.… – show

I remember when this place was THE place. Not really sure what happened. Prices are only marginally (10%-15%) better than brand new items from abig box store, and don’t really seem tokeep upwith current sales/holiday discounts onbrand new items from most other music retailers (one particular instrument Iwas interested inwas being offered atthe exact same price asa new model with manual, box and warranty from ProAudioStar). B-stock and refurbished from Sweetwater orMusicians Friend willprobably get you much closer towhat you’re expecting fromMGR. You might find agem, but you’re probably better off saving your time andgas.… – show

Jake, thanks for the review, orwhat seems more like your promotion ofnational, big-box, mega stores over our small, locally-owned, used gear shop. Wedon't keep upwith what the large, corporate giants are doing for holidays/sales/stupid deals,etc., since special pricing istemporary and we're not trying tocompete with those other big name stores onour unique, used items. Wetry toprice competitively and weoffer customer rewards and discounts. Our used pricing isand always has been 40--85% ofnew, depending onthe category and demand. You wrote that you're not really sure what happened…it's called inflation. Everything costs morenow…everything, everywhere.And, everybody out there can save their gas and find aton ofgems 24/7onour site atwww.musicgoroundvirginiabeach.com. Thank you Music GoRound! Ipurchased aused PRS Kingfisher bass afew monthsago, and Icouldn't behappier. The bass shipped really fast, and itwas packaged very well toprotect itduring shipment. Iwas super happy with the condition ofthe bass— better than advertised! All Idid was give ita minor fret leveling, dressed upthe frets, put onnew strings, dialed itin tofactory setup, and this thing plays like adream!

When you get asetup, ask for Kyle! Hedid anamazing job with myacoustic electric guitar. When Igot itfrom afriend the strings weso high itwas very difficult toplay, Icouldn't doa clear bar chord for the life ofme. After Kyle worked his magic, itis the easiest toplay out ofmy 3guitars. Kyle also fixed upthe preamp and itsounds somuch clearer when plugged innow! Ireally wish Ihad before pictures toshow the incredible difference!

I've been abrass player since Iwas inmiddle school, and Ihad aguitar when Iwas younger, though Inever really learned how toplayit. Iwalked inthere with mywife tonight just tobrowse, and the gentleman that greeted uswas incredibly kind, professional, and understanding.
I told him ofmy musical past, and how I've always wanted tolearn the 6-string, asking him was his most cost-friendly acoustic was for abeginner. Hepointed out this gorgeous Jasmine acoustic, strummed afew chords
so Icould hearit, and told meall about the Jasminevs. The other brands, what made anaudible difference and what didnot, and why other, more expensive, units weren't necessarily abetter option for meat this time.He got mehooked upwith the basics (guitar, shoulder strap, clip-on tuner, and picks), and had meout the door atan incredibly reasonable price. This young man was anabsolute DELIGHT towork with from start tofinish. I'm ashamed toadmit that Icannot remember his name, but ifthe owner(s) read this, itwas the young man that gave mehis DJcard bythe name ofDJ BLOOM.
He should berecognized for his exceptional knowledge and professionalism. For aman that told mehe had been playing for 17years, atno point did Ifeel looked-down-upon for being abeginner, and asking seemingly silly questions.

Not exactly satisfied with the quality ofthe equipment. The items were about15—20% less than buying new and the exchange days are only within 7days. Iprobably will shop onAMAZON from nowon. Iwasn't satisfied with the customer service.

Customer service isso important tome and this store was courteous and professional. Iwas going tomake apurchase and mycard had extra security features but MGR team was patient. Iasked for anadditional item and sales people were quick tohelp.

Sales associate was not atall helpful. Basically rude and was wrong about all sizes ofwhat Ineeded being the same. Ended upfiguring out what Ineeded bymyself sostore did carryit. Prob won’t beback though

This isexactly the Music Store Iwas looking for after leaving Japan that has awesome second hand music shops. When possible Itry tobuy everything used and Music GoRound’s selection isalways revolving andtop. Ihave traded ineverything from a8piece Pearl kit toguitars, and bought quite afew things toadd tomy collection this last year we’ve been here. This place has apretty large selection ofused and funky old gear, left handed guitars and even anAmerican Pearl drumkit. Ipicked upthis Lab Series bass cab and itwent perfectly into this synthrig. Great pricetoo. Ithink Igot areally cool pearl masters kit there afew years ago for agreat price. Ithink ansm57 ortwo aswell. Good store

Limited inventory Regarding drum/percussion currently
I know that through the pandemic, the trend ofonline shopping has become the dominant/preferred method ofshopping, soI can understand the lack ofgear onthe shelves. Ifanyone has musical gear that isnot being put touse, get itup tothese places and get some cash and allow for instruments and hardware tobe used bythose trying toget itgoing.00

Since wesource almost everything directly from local folks, 85% ofthe gear inour shop iswhat we’re able tobuy from our customers. Sometimes we’re lucky toget nice Bstocks orsome brand new items, but there’s nocompany selling used cymbals from which wecould buy and then restock our wall, for example.
